2025 Honda Passport

There’s a Honda for every driver, and the midsized Passport utility vehicle suits those who love the Pilot yet lean a little more toward adventure. Those models share a platform, with a 280-horsepower six-cylinder engine under the hood, and plenty of space for gear in the cargo area and on the rooftop. The other main difference between Honda’s two SUVs is that the Pilot has three rows while the Passport has two rows – as well as an added dose of ruggedness, including standard all-wheel drive (that feature is an option on the Pilot).

Trims and Mechanical Basics

Passport shoppers can choose from three distinct trim levels: EX-L, TrailSport, and Black Edition. A 3.5-liter V6 that puts out 280 hp and 262 lb.-ft. of torque joins forces with a 9-speed automatic transmission to form the powertrain. As mentioned, all-wheel drive comes standard on every trim. Thanks to its towing capacity of up to 5,000 pounds, the Passport will pull your trailered boat, snowmobiles, personal watercraft, or smaller camper. It will also achieve EPA-estimated fuel economy of 19 mpg around town and 24 mpg on the highway.

Standard Equipment by Trim Level

At entry level, the EX-L is well stocked with leather seats, a moonroof, proximity keyless entry, LED headlights and taillights, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, heated power front seats, tri-zone automatic climate control, a wireless phone charge pad, an auto-dimming rearview mirror with HomeLink, push-button start, a 60/40-split second-row seatback, four USB ports (one Type-A and three Type-C), a power tailgate, heated exterior mirrors with built-in turn indicators, rear privacy glass, and noise-reducing windshield glass. The TrailSport earns its name with all-terrain tires, a suspension tuned for off-road use, all-season floor mats, LED fog lights, power-folding exterior mirrors, rooftop rails, and orange contrast stitching on the upholstery, plus orange ambient interior lighting.

At the top of the lineup, the Black Edition moves to a blacked-out exterior and goes with red contrast stitching and ambient lighting on the inside. It forgoes the offroad aspects of the TrailSport and builds on the EX-L’s standard equipment roster with the addition of heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear outboard seats, a heated steering wheel, a hands-free liftgate, rain-sensing windshield wipers, auto-dimming exterior mirrors, a climate control zone for the second row, and noise-reducing front side glass.

Advanced Safety Features

The proprietary Honda Sensing collection of advanced safety technologies is installed on all three ’25 Passport trims. Its contents are adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, lane departure warning, parking sensors (front and rear), collision mitigation braking, road departure mitigation, lane keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and automatic high beams. A multi-angle rearview camera with dynamic guidelines is also included.

Infotainment and Connectivity

Every Passport has an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone integration (Android Auto and Apple CarPlay), Bluetooth, SiriusXM satellite radio, and HD Radio. Satellite-linked navigation and voice recognition come on the TrailSport and Black Edition. While the Black Edition is given a premium sound system with ten speakers, the others receive a more basic audio setup with seven speakers. Access to a Wi-Fi hotspot and HondaLink subscription services is an additional privilege of Black Edition owners.
