Civic Sedan

The 2025 North American Car of the Year continues its 11th generation with the dependability and practicality that have made it Honda’s compact mainstay for over 50 years. The 2026 Honda Civic Sedan will carry over the cosmetic updates that the model received last year: the commanding fascia and grille that give the front end a confident presence. The Civic’s long-standing comfort and convenience characteristics remain paramount, with an ample roster of amenities for both trims. Drivers seeking a performance-inspired feel and look can opt for the Sport trim’s paddle shifters, sport pedals, and alloy wheels. Honda Sensing Safety and Driver-Assistive features, such as a lane-keeping assist system, adaptive cruise control, and traffic sign recognition, This page highlights the traditional gas-only Civic Sedan; the Civic Hybrid is covered on its own page.

Trims and Powertrain

The LX and Sport are the two trim levels for the gas-only variant of the front-wheel-drive 2026 Civic Sedan. The Civic powertrain pairs a 150-horsepower Atkinson-cycle inline four-cylinder engine with a continuously variable transmission (CVT), adding paddle shifters to the Sport trim. According to the EPA, the LX returns an estimated 32 mpg around town and 41 mpg on the highway, while the Sport achieves slightly less at 31 city/39 highway mpg. The LX has two drive modes to select from, Normal and Econ (part of Honda’s Eco Assist System), which are complemented by Sport mode on the Sport trim.
