2026 Honda
Civic Sedan Hybrid

After a decade-long absence, Honda brought hybrid power back to the Civic lineup last model year. Building on this success, the 2026 Civic Sedan Hybrid returns, offering an ideal blend of efficiency (up to 50 mpg) and robust performance (200 horsepower). Comfortable space for five, an oversized trunk, and an upscale cabin make it the perfect package. Above all, the Civic Hybrid Sedan maintains its engaging driving characteristics, which have helped the Civic nameplate become one of the best sellers on the planet.

This gas-electric sedan comes in two well-equipped trims, with standard features like heated seats, a moonroof, and comprehensive safety technology. Value is also part of the formula, as the automaker covers the first year of standard scheduled maintenance through the complimentary Honda Service Pass program.

This overview covers the 2026 Civic Sedan Hybrid. The other Civic variants – the non-hybrid Civic Sedan, Civic Hatchback, Civic Hatchback Hybrid, Civic Si, and Civic Type R – receive separate model pages.

Trims and Powertrain

Both Civic Sedan Hybrid trims, the Sport and Sport Touring, are motivated by a lively 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine paired with dual electric motors. The system produces 200 horsepower, which is sent to the front wheels and managed by a continuously variable transmission (CVT). The EPA-estimated fuel economy for both trims is 50 mpg around town and 47 mpg on the highway. The trunk space measures 14.8 cubic feet.

Standard Equipment by Trim

The Sport trim is packed with upscale amenities, such as a power moonroof, heated front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, LED exterior lighting with automatic headlights, and 18-inch gloss-black alloy wheels. It also has fabric upholstery, proximity keyless entry, push-button start, a 7-inch driver information display, heated power side-view mirrors, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, sport pedals, a 60/40 split-folding rear seatback, a tilt-and-telescopic steering column, ambient cabin lighting (red), and dual USB ports.

Buyers looking for more luxury touches will find that the Sport Touring checks even more boxes, thanks to leather upholstery, an eight-way power driver's seat, a four-way power front passenger seat, and a 10.2-inch driver information display. Honda also gives this trim rain-sensing intermittent windshield wipers, side-view mirrors with integrated LED turn indicators, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, wireless device charging, and 18-inch alloy wheels with matte-gray inserts.

Advanced Driver Aids and Safety Technology

Honda Sensing is a comprehensive suite of driver-assistance features that comes standard on both 2025 Civic Sedan Hybrid trims. This technology grouping includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-keeping assist, lane departure warning, road departure mitigation, adaptive cruise control, traffic jam assist, traffic sign recognition, a driver attention monitor, and automatic high beams. Both trims also get a multi-angle rearview monitor with dynamic guidelines, but the Sport Touring alone adds low-speed automatic braking and front and rear parking sensors.

Infotainment and Connectivity

The Sport’s infotainment system has a 7-inch infotainment touchscreen, which increases to 9 inches in the Sport Touring. Similarly, the Sport’s four-speaker sound system is upgraded to a 12-speaker Bose setup in the Sport Touring. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are standard, but connectivity is only wireless in the Sport Touring. Bluetooth and access to the HondaLink app are included on both. Google built-in (with access to popular apps like Google Maps and Google Assistant) and access to a Wi-Fi hotspot are found on the Sport Touring.
