EX-L
The EX-L is not your typical base trim, as it comes with a moonroof, a power tailgate, proximity keyless entry, LED headlights and taillights, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a wireless phone charge pad, an auto-dimming rearview mirror with HomeLink. The comfort level is high, thanks to leather upholstery, heated power-adjustable front seats, tri-zone automatic climate control, and a 60/40-split second-row seatback. This well-equipped entry trim also has push-button ignition, four USB ports (one Type-A and three Type-C), heated exterior mirrors with built-in turn indicators, rear privacy glass, and noise-reducing windshield glass.
Honda Sensing, the proprietary collection of advanced driver-assist technologies comes standard to set up the EX-L with adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, lane departure warning, parking sensors (front and rear), collision mitigation braking, road departure mitigation, lane keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and automatic high beams. A multi-angle rearview camera with dynamic guidelines is installed, too. Multimedia is controlled via an 8-inch touchscreen with smartphone integration (Android Auto and Apple CarPlay), Bluetooth, SiriusXM satellite radio, and HD Radio. A 215-watt audio system handles sound duties with ten speakers throughout the cabin.
TrailSport
The TrailSport’s most significant characteristics are aimed at off-road driving. Those merits are highlighted by all-terrain tires and a suspension tuned for off-road use. This mid-grade trim also gets LED fog lights, power-folding exterior mirrors, rooftop rails, all-season floor mats, and an orange theme, with that hue on the upholstery’s contrast stitching as well as the ambient interior lighting. The Honda Sensing active safety array is the same as in the EX-L, but the infotainment system is improved with voice recognition capability and satellite-linked navigation.
Black Edition
As the most loaded Passport trim, the Black Edition is visually distinguished by its blacked-out exterior and black interior with red contrast stitching and red ambient lighting. It forgoes the offroad features that differentiate the TrailSport and builds on the EX-L’s standard equipment roster by adding a heated steering wheel, heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear outboard seats, a hands-free power liftgate, rain-sensing windshield wipers, auto-dimming exterior mirrors, a climate control zone for the second row, and noise-reducing front side glass. Like the TrailSport, its infotainment array contains satellite-linked navigation and voice recognition capability, but it goes a step further in the audio department with a 540-watt premium sound system with ten speakers. The Black Edition is the only Passport trim that gets subscription access to a Wi-Fi hotspot and HondaLink services.
