2025 Honda CR-V
The ever-popular CR-V continues its sixth generation with model year 2025. Attractive as ever, this compact crossover proudly wears the Honda family look, with a confident front end that extends to a chiseled body. Although its refined appearance gives off upscale vibes, this latest CR-V retains its affordable pricing as well as the personality of the original “compact recreational vehicle,” as conceived by Honda in 1997. The CR-V still provides longevity, reliability, and comfortable and amenity-filled transportation for five. Headroom and cargo space are more than ample, and Honda uses premium materials even on the lowest-priced trims.
This page looks closely at the 2025 Honda CR-V with the standard gas-only powertrain. Please see our separate overview for the CR-V Hybrid.

Trims and Powertrains
Think of the three CR-V trims – LX, EX, and EX-L – as good, better, and best offerings, giving every buyer an option that works with their equipment needs and budget. Each trim gets its motivation from a 190-horsepower turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine, which is paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT). A front-wheel drivetrain (FWD) comes standard, but all trims are eligible for the optional all-wheel drive (AWD).
With FWD, the 2025 CR-V returns an EPA-estimated 28 miles per gallon around town and 34 mpg on the open road. That will dip a tad to 26 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway with AWD. The available cargo space ranges from 39.3 cubic feet behind the second row to 76.5 cubic feet when the back seats are folded; the maximum towing capacity is 1,500 pounds.
Standard Features
Honda gives the LX trim more than just the essentials. Its standard equipment includes remote keyless entry, single-zone automatic climate control, fabric upholstery, LED exterior lighting with automatic headlights, power side mirrors with integrated turn signals, and push-button ignition. It also has a 7-inch driver information display, a tilt-and-telescopic steering column, variable intermittent windshield wipers, rear privacy glass, a front-console USB port, and 17-inch steel wheels with covers.
The EX adds more upscale features, including a power moonroof, heated front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, a ten-way power driver's seat with lumbar controls, proximity keyless entry, heated power side mirrors, illuminated vanity mirrors, two additional USB ports, and 18-inch alloy wheels. At the top of the ladder, the EX-L gets leather upholstery, a power tailgate, a driver's position memory system, a four-way power front passenger seat, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, wireless device charging, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror.
Advanced Driver Aids and Safety Technology
Honda Sensing is standard across the CR-V range. This suite of advanced driver-assist technologies includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, lane departure warning, road departure mitigation, adaptive cruise control, traffic jam assist, traffic sign recognition, driver attention warning, rear seat reminder, and automatic high beams. Blind-spot monitoring with a cross-traffic monitor comes standard on the EX and EX-L; the EX-L also gets front and rear parking sensors and low-speed braking control. The standard supplemental safety features found on all include a complete airbag system, anti-lock brakes, stability control, traction control, and a multi-angle rearview monitor with dynamic guidelines.
Infotainment and Connectivity
Honda's touchscreen infotainment system spans 7 inches for the LX and EX and 9 inches for the EX-L. This technology is enhanced with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay (wireless on the EX-L), Bluetooth, a text messaging assistant, and access to the HondaLink smartphone app for emergency help and other services. The LX has a four-speaker audio system, which is upgraded to six speakers in the EX and eight in the EX-L. SiriusXM satellite radio comes standard only on the EX-L.
